Inventing with Code: Sparking Creativity Through Physical Computing

Physical Computing is one of the most inclusive approaches to introducing computer science to all students, with tangible inputs/outputs and the ability to creatively tinker, it's a great approach for student engagement. Join us to learn more about physical computing with the micro:bit and Arduino-based boards.

  • There will be 2 tracks available
    • micro:bit for elementary & middle school
    • Odyssey Board (Arduino-compatible board designed for beginning and intermediate students) for middle & high school
  • This is a beginner workshop - no prior experience required
  • 4 Free Washington State STEM clock hours are available for attending (CSTA Washington members only)
  • Participants will be able to borrow both micro:bit and Odyssey Board kits for an entire classroom from PSESD (Puget Sound Educational Service District)
  • Attendees should bring a laptop with a standard full size USB port (or an adaptor cable) to the session
  • All participants will receive a micro:bit or Arduino-compatible Odyssey Board kit as part of the workshop
