Hello Washington State CSTA member!
We’re thrilled to announce that the Central Washington, Mid-Columbia, Puget Sound, and Spokane CSTA chapters have resoundingly voted to approve a merger to become CSTA Washington! The biggest short-term change is that everyone is now in one community on Membernova. While details of the consolidation are in progress, CSTA Washington will use the infrastructure of CSTA Puget Sound (aka Puget Sound Computer Science Teachers Association (PSCSTA)) for legal, financial, and communication purposes. In the meantime, you will continue to have the same access to resources, events, and the vibrant community you know and love.
If you’re already a CSTA member in WA state but not yet part of the Washington chapter, now is the perfect time to join! The CSTA Washington chapter has launched, and by joining, you'll connect directly with local educators, gain access to Washington-specific events, and contribute to the growth of CS education in our state. The leadership committee of the new CSTA Washington chapter comprises leaders from the previous CSTA chapters. The next step is the formation of the Chapter Development Committee, which is composed of board and non-board members from around the state. This committee will make recommendations to leadership regarding a regional support structure, a new chapter leadership structure, and any necessary changes to our bylaws and chapter operation manual. We will be in touch with you shortly if you indicated interest in working on the Chapter Development Committee.
