Lauren Bricker, Randy Macdonald, and Sean Glantz are hosting an informal event where participants will actively engage in conversation and networking on Friday, March 22nd from 12:45 - 1:35.

The event being hosted is famously know as a Bird of a Feather (BOF). This BOF is specifically an event for Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) chapter leaders and participants from Oregon, Washington, California, and Nevada (the CSTA Western region) to come together, explore ideas for connecting and strengthening our chapters, and discuss possible opportunities for regional cooperation across chapters, such as a western regional conference.

Participants will also be engaged in a jigsaw/networking activity to allow members from different chapters to share their own experiences. A structured group discussion regarding the value and feasibility of a regional conference meetup within the context of the goals and activities of local chapters and the national organization will follow the jigsaw/networking activity. This event will take place on Friday, March 22nd from 12:45 to 1:35 in Meeting Rooms B110-112 - Flock 3C at the 2024 SIGSCE in Portland, Oregon. To help engage as many K-12 educators as possible in this BOF, a virtual option will be available for people unable to attend in person. After registration, and before the event, a Zoom link will be sent to those registered for virtual attendees.

Registration is open from now until Thursday, March 21st and can be done on the SIGSCE Website HERE.  Please note that registration will be discounted on Friday and Saturday for K-12 educators. If you are interested in attending virtually make sure to register using the Hybrid Registration Event on the PSCSTA website after registering on the SIGSCE website.

For those interested in some extra socializing come join us at Wayfinder Beer Pub for a Post SIGCSE Western Chapters BoF Meetup.

We look forward to seeing you there!
