A number of teachers gathered on August 5th to talk about our experiences at the CSTA virtual Chapter Leaders Summit and Conference. The participants of our meeting suggested we share the links more broadly, however just a day or two later CSTA published the Conference Resources page. [Editor note: the day 2 keynote by Dr. Ruha Benjamin on 2020 Vision: Reimagining the Default Settings of Technology and Society is definitely worth watching (video, slides).]
Some of the other topics we chatted about included Github classroom, using VS Code and VS Code online (Code spaces), and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion presentations of the conference, including the CSTA Guidance for Inclusive Teaching. We started to share ideas for teaching online or in a hybrid model in the fall, but chose to hold off for our (“Birds of a Feather”) gathering tomorrow night, Wednesday August 12 at 7pm.
