Save the date!!! We're super excited to announce our second annual PSCSTA/Step CS lightning talk event!
When: Thursday May 25, 6-8pm
Where: The Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering, 4th floor of the Gates Center (TBD hybrid over Zoom)
What: Welcome to the STEP CS cohort, lightning talks, and food!!!
First, some background: The second cohort of the STEP CS program is happening during Spring quarter 2023. The students in this program are staying for a 5th quarter in their Masters in Education program to take some classes in CS pedagogy and work on a CS teaching certification.
Our goal is to welcome them into the world of teaching CS and connect them with other teachers in the community through the Puget Sound Computer Science Teachers' association (PSCSTA)!!!
We are planning an evening of lightning talks with an unconference and networking for the teachers to get connected. We're also going to provide food - (boxed food most likely) that we can hopefully eat outside on the terrace if the weather is nice.
So what's next?
1. Save the Date! We know it's on a week day and teachers are very busy, but we'd like to have a good welcome to these new folks!
2. Volunteer to speak! Either in person or remote to give a 5 minute talk about their CS teaching journey and practice (we'll send out a second announcement about this, stay tuned).
An event signup form will be sent out soon so we can order enough food. Please be on the lookout for that announcement!
