We will:
- Discuss the benefits of physical computing as an inclusive introduction to computer science
- Gain familiarity with the micro:bit or Arduino boards
- Walk through step-by-step coding challenges and build projects together that you can use in your classroom or library.
There will be two tracks available – micro:bit for grades 1-5 and Arduino for grades 6-8. 4 Washington state STEM clock hours are available. Attendees should bring a laptop with a standard USB port (type A) to the session. Participants will keep the micro:bit or Arduino kit that they used for the workshop. Lunch, snacks, and beverages will also be provided. This is a beginner workshop - no prior experience required.
