CS Endorsement Exam Prep Course for Washington 2024-25
CSTA Puget Sound (aka "PSCSTA") and the Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD 121) proudly present an online, self-paced, competency-based prep course to help you pass the WEST/NES Computer Science Endorsement Exam for Washington and prepare you for your first-year teaching computer science.
The course is based on the WeTeach_CS Foundations of CS for Teachers: Praxis Prep course, which has helped over 2000 teachers pass the CS endorsement exam in their states and has been optimized for the Washington WEST/NES exam. An annual CSTA+ membership is also included. The course has been significantly improved from the 2022-23 pilot version. Course instructors also provide virtual office hours/mentoring sessions and introduce content available to CSTA+ members to help you with the exam and throughout your CS teaching career. Attending at least one office hour/mentoring session a month is mandatory.
40 Washington state clock hours are available to current teachers who successfully complete the course.

Scholarships for $550 are available from PSCSTA if you are currently a middle/high school teacher at a Washington public school or are a junior/senior at a teacher education program in Washington state. You will be notified within two weeks whether you qualify for a scholarship and must be approved before registering to use the scholarship. To apply for a scholarship, click here.
Current public school teachers should also consider the Educator Retooling Conditional Scholarship to receive up to $ 3,000 for passing the exam and teaching computer science for two years.
The next cohort starts in Jan 2025. Before starting the online course, at least 25-40 hours of experience coding with a text-based programming language is recommended. If you have any questions about course prerequisites, please use the below contact information.
